Meet our Founder!
I am Mikala Shannon, the founder of Better Period.
Throughout my lifetime, I have nearly experienced homelessness not once, but twice. At only 12 and 17 years old, I quickly came to the brute realization of just how difficult it is to afford feminine products. With that being said, I grew a vision to provide period dignity for all, especially Black women like myself. I hope to raise community awareness, provide access to those in need, and ultimately change perceptions and stigma around homelessness and menstruation.

Our mission is to continuously collect menstrual products and distribute them to anyone with a period that is in need. We strive to partner with our community to make this possible.
